Terms of Use

Draft. This text is under review and is not yet in effect.

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Overtime Education website and courses, which are provided by Sanford Data Analytics. By creating an account or buying a course you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Your account

  • An account is for one person. Register under your name exactly as it appears on your CPA license, because that name is printed on your certificate.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done under your account.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe someone else has used it.

Courses and CPE credit

Each course page states the recommended CPE credit, the field of study, the knowledge level, the completion requirements and the passing score before you buy. To complete a course you must watch the video in full at normal speed, answer the review questions, pass the final assessment, and submit the course evaluation, all within one year of purchase.

Your state board of accountancy decides whether a course counts toward your requirement. Check your board's rules before you buy; our Requirements by State pages are a guide, not a ruling.

Completing the course yourself

You must complete every course yourself. Do not let anyone else take a course or an assessment for you, do not use software to play, skip or answer it, and do not share assessment questions or answers. We record viewing and answer activity to verify completion. We may withhold, correct or revoke a certificate that was issued in error or obtained in breach of these terms.

Payment, refunds and cancellations

Prices are in U.S. dollars and are charged when you buy. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number. Refunds and cancellations follow the policies published on our Policies page, which form part of these terms.

Course content

Courses are for your personal professional education. You may not copy, record, download, redistribute or resell any part of a course. Course content is educational. It is not legal advice or advice on a particular engagement, and statutes and rules are presented as they stood on the course's stated revision date.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available but do not promise uninterrupted access. We may revise a course to keep it current; a learner who has started a version may finish it. We may change these terms; the version in force is the one on this page, and a change does not affect a purchase already made.

Warranties and liability

The site and courses are provided as they are. To the fullest extent the law allows, Sanford Data Analytics is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and its total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the course the claim concerns.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama. Questions about them go to [email protected].
